Spectrum is becoming one of the most contested resources in the digital economy. Satellite direct-to-device services, integrated sensing and communications, 6G,  critical national infrastructure, and the future of the UHF band are all pushing regulators and operators to make difficult choices.

That is why PolicyTracker and Shure are bringing together leading voices from regulation, mobile, satellite, broadcasting and research for Global Perspectives on Spectrum Management, a two-day online event on 9–10 December 2026.

A deeper insight into today’s biggest spectrum stories

The program is built around topics PolicyTrackers covers on a day-to-day basis: WRC-27, D2D. UHF band decisions, the future generation of mobile services, spectrum planning for large events.

On Day 1, Prof. William Webb will examine satellite direct-to-device services and integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). The day also covers spectrum planning for the FIFA World Cup 2026, the latest US spectrum outlook from the NTIA, and a European regulatory panel featuring Ofcom, ANFR and BNetzA.

On Day 2, speakers will explore the future of the 470–694 MHz band, spectrum’s role in protecting critical national infrastructure, the potential of 5G broadcasting, and real-world satellite D2D performance data from Ookla.

Attendees can expect:

  • Regulatory insight from national spectrum regulators.
  • Industry perspectives from satellite, mobile, Wifi, broadcast, and technology specialists.
