Oxford course: does 5G change the spectrum policy equation?

The propagation characteristics of mmWave spectrum and the challenging business case for 5G have given the spectrum policy community plenty of food for thought. Does this mean that sharing rather than exclusive licences should become the default position for 5G frequencies? Would auctions be counter-productive? The propagation characteristics of mmWave spectrum and the challenging business case for 5G have given the spectrum policy community plenty of food for thought.

Does this mean that sharing rather than exclusive licences should become the default position for 5G frequencies? Would auctions be counter-productive?

We will be putting these questions in the context of wider engineering and policy principles at our signature course, Understanding Modern Spectrum Management, held at Oxford University from 16-19 September.

Spectrum management requires a knowledge of several disciplines: from engineering to law and from economics to technology trends. This course covers them all.

The trainers include internationally recognised experts, such as the renowned authority on the economics of spectrum management, Professor Martin Cave, and Professor William Webb a former chief technologist at UK regulator Ofcom.

It all takes place among the historic charm of Oxford, at Harris Manchester College, part of Britain’s oldest university.

You can save £250 by booking before August 5 and if you need any help please get in touch!
