Operator profiles updated for 2025: part one

We're now publishing the 2025 versions of our operator profiles. This year's versions include charts showing how much spectrum each operator holds in particular markets.

| Jonathan Watson

US operator Verizon‘s chart, for example, looks like this:

This represents all the FDD spectrum it holds in low/mid bands like 700 MHz (upper C block), 850 MHz, AWS-1 (1700 MHz), PCS (1900 MHz) and AWS-3 (2100 MHz), the TDD mid-band spectrum it has at 3700–3900 MHz and 3.7–4.2 GHz, and the mmWave spectrum it holds in the 28 GHz, upper 37 GHz and 39 GHz bands.

Similar charts have been created for the other operators, based on information from the PolicyTracker Spectrum Database.

Once all the individual profiles are published, we will also publish an overview of what we think are the most important points that emerge from them. A few key themes are already becoming clear:

  • Demand for more mid-band spectrum in the US, especially in the lower 3 GHz band
  • Increasing interest in using satellite coverage for underserved or unserved areas
  • Demand for a simplified spectrum framework in Europe that will help to make the telecom sector more attractive to investors

Updated profiles of the following companies are now available to Spectrum Research Service subscribers:
