Spectrum stakeholders around the world continue to examine spectrum-sharing frameworks across both unlicensed and licensed ranges and between public, commercial and private users under an array of sharing scenarios. Spectrum sharing is a broad term that encompasses multiple domains, modes of use and users and design and technical parameters. Progress towards the development and adoption of more dynamic real-time sharing models is slow, incremental, and ongoing. This research gives a general overview of different approaches to sharing.

Technologies such as dynamic spectrum access (DSA) and frameworks like CBRS in the US exemplify this approach. This research looks at what challenges CBRS faces in 2025 and what the prospects are of dynamic spectrum sharing.

It examines dynamic sharing techniques, ongoing European and international studies, and policy initiatives for integrating terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, including future 6G systems.
