Martin Sims

Martin Sims is a journalist and academic who specialises in communications policy issues. He has first hand experience of the UK broadcasting sector, having worked as a News Editor in independent radio then as a journalist for BBC network news. In the last five years he has concentrated on broadcasting and telecoms policy, lecturing at the University of East London and editing Intermedia, the policy journal of the International Institute of Communications. He contributed a chapter to The Handbook of Corporate Communications published by Routledge in 2004. He has an MA in Communications from the University of Westminster.

Mike Newlands has specialised in telecoms reporting for more than a decade, writing for Total Telecom, Telecom Paper, Point Topic, Global Technology Business, Infoconomy and various Informa  Telecoms & Media publications during that time. For 20 years prior to that he covered telecoms as part of a wider business portfolio. He has lived and worked in Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, Australasia, Hawaii and the UK. Publications he has written for include The Times. The Daily Express, The New York Times, Institutional Investor, Euromoney, Asian Business, the South China Morning Post and the South African Sunday Times. He has BSc (Hons) and BA (Hons) degrees.

Dugie Standeford

Dugie Standeford is a lawyer-turned-journalist. She specialises in telecom and Internet regulation, privacy and intellectual property issues. In addition to PolicyTracker, she regularly reports for Warren Communications News in Washington, DC, Privacy Laws & Business (UK) and Intellectual Property Watch (Geneva).

 

 

Nathalie Vandystadt

Nathalie Vandystadt is a French journalist specialised on EU affairs, telecoms, Internet, copyright, privacy, justice, immigration and home affairs. In addition to PolicyTracker, she reports for Europolitics (Belgium), La Gazette Santé Social (France) and has just started to contribute to the daily French national newspaper La Croix from Brussels . She has a BA degree in French Literature and attended two MA in EU affairs and journalism (La Sorbonne-Paris III and Celsa).

 

Jonathan Watson

Dr Jonathan Watson has worked as a business journalist for a variety of organisations including Screen Digest, Analytica and Euromoney Publications, where he was Editor of Broadcasting Strategy. He has written several business reports including Broadband Internet access in Europe and a study of the global market for video-on-demand, both for Screen Digest. He has a PhD in Modern History.
